Treasurer and Board President 

KFACT 

DESCRIPTION:
1. Designate KFACT as one of your top three annual charitable contributions
July 1st- June 30th each year (preferably Giving Tuesday in November during the end of year giving campaign)


2. Attend bi-monthly board meetings and read/respond to monthly update reports from Executive Director


3. Initial one year commitment, with a willingness to serve three year term subsequently. Upon
completion of the three year term, term renewed annually.


4. Attend KFACT three events and/or actively participate: 
Annual fundraiser (Spring-March-May)
Attend the event, purchase tickets, invite family and friends to attend, workplace sponsorship, promote on social media platforms etc.


Annual Giving Tuesday Event/ Campaign (Fall- November)
Attend the event, purchase tickets, invite family and friends to attend, workplace sponsorship etc.


Annual Community Trunk Party
Attend event, ask your workplace to host event, provide a basket filled with items, invite family and friends to donated in-kind items, host a trunk party among your family and friends on behalf of KFACT etc.

  1. Commit 15 minutes per month doing one or more of the following tasks below in the three categories: Advocate, Engage, Commit 

Advocate

  • Share about KFACT on social media, write a article to the Chamber of Commerce about the importance of Mentoring, schedule a face to face meeting with a potential supporter, volunteer or mentor, send emails requesting a presentation  

Engage

  • Introduce Executive Director and/or mentees to prospective supporters, volunteers etc. Recruit through relationships on behalf of KFACT to support special events, secure volunteers, etc. Facilitate a lunch and learn at KFACT HQ, schedule a tour for prospective supporters, volunteers, mentors etc. Assist ED with cultivating relationships with the community, donors, volunteers etc. 

Commit

  • Write appeal blogs, emails, letters and post on social media for KFACT, cultivate donor relationships through follow-up thank you letters, phone calls and general updates etc, pitch news story ideas to KFACT ED, secure community outreach opportunities for KFACT i.e.. community events, booths etc.

Rock River Valley Pantry 

RRVP Board Positions 

DESCRIPTION: 

Specific Responsibilities:
1. Serve as an active board member by attending at least eight board meetings and serving on committees.
2. Assume an active role on at least one committee.
3. Assume leadership roles at the board and committee levels.
4. Contribute to the Peanut Butter Endowment campaign at a level commensurate with your ability.
5. Expect to assume an active role in the annual fundraising campaigns by providing leadership, soliciting donations, attending, and financially supporting events.
6. As a member of the Executive Board employ, monitor and evaluate the CEO.
7. Ensure budget, policies, and program efforts are consistent with the RRVP’s mission, goals and objectives.
8. Familiarize yourself with the RRVP’s mission, programs, and core values.
9. Become informed in advance of agenda items for all board and committee meetings.
10. Ask discerning questions, constructively participate in deliberations, and vote according to your convictions.
11. Serve as an educated ambassador of the RRVP and outreach to your personal and professional affiliations.

Circle of Change Veterans Dog Program

General Board Member Position 

DESCRIPTION: Attend monthly board meetings; Assist with fundraising efforts and/or provide financial support; Help spread the word about the organization and the services we provide

NW HomeStart, Inc

DESCRIPTION: The Treasurer does all that a general member does, but also leads our finance meetings the evening before our board meetings. For the general member, we have monthly meetings that can be attended in person or by phone. The member would need to commit to helping us achieve our vision by bringing community voice to our discussions, overseeing how we meet our operational goals, and connecting us to any resource development opportunities that are appropriate.

RAVE BOARD

ENABLING LEGISLATION:

70 ILCS 200/240

Nine member board. Five appointed by mayor with consent of Council, 3 from County Board, 1 from Loves Park. 5 appt. by Mayor for 5 yr. terms, staggered expiration, beginning from 1970, ’71, ’72, ’73, ’74 on (thus one would expire each year thereafter). Terms are for 5 years to begin first day of June from appointment year until 1st day of June 5 years later, except to fill vacancies.

Note: Statute does require that oath of office be filed with Secretary of State (Dept. of Index, Public Documents Division, 111 E. Monroe, Springfield, IL 62756) within 30 days of appointment.

PURPOSE:

As an Agency of Local Government, the MetroCentre Authority operates a multipurpose public assembly facility and provides a variety of programming opportunities to the broadest spectrum of residents within our primary marketing area. Our commitment is to provide the highest level of service to our guests; a safe, comfortable environment; and fiscal accountability. By succeeding in these endeavors, the Authority stimulates economic development and enhances the overall quality of life in the Rockford Metropolitan Area.

MEETINGS:

Board meets at noon on the third or fourth Thursday of each month at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Members are not compensated.

YWCA Northwestern Illinois Board Member

Requirements: 

• YWCA Board of Directors meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the YWCA Northwestern Illinois, 4990 E. State Street, Rockford.

• Board members serve a three year term with the opportunity for re-election to second and third terms.

• The Board meets monthly; members are expected to attend at least 80% of the meetings.

• Board members are required to participate on at least one Board Committee. Committees are:
*Finance/Asset Management (meets the 3rd Monday of the month at 8:00 a.m.)
*Human Resources
*Advocacy
*Fundraising/Marketing

• Board members are expected to contribute to the Annual Appeal, Membership Campaign, and attend special events, including the Leader Luncheon.

• Board Members are required to be a YWCA member, committed to the mission of the YWCA.

• Board members agree to understand the YWCA national advocacy issues. Board members do not have to support these positions, but are asked not to visibly work against the following:
o Elimination of Racism
o Affirmative Action
o Hate Crimes
o Violence Against Women
o Increasing Women’s Income
o Welfare Reform
o Early Childhood Education

To demonstrate our commitment to our mission, YWCA Northwestern Illinois board members agree to a Give and Get Policy. This policy is intended to ensure that every board member supports YWCA with an annual donation, and getting from other donors a combined minimum of $2,500 annually. Board giving is distinct and in addition to attending special events, buying tickets or otherwise participating in YWCA Northwestern Illinois’ activities, all of which contribute to the board member’s goal. The board give and get goal may be reviewed as part of the annual budget approval process. All board members and potential board members will be given a copy of this policy in recruitment and on-boarding documents. Monthly financial reports will include an update on board giving. The CEO and Board President can agree to waive or alter this requirement for any board member should the board member present a compelling reason for accommodation.

Comprehensive Community Solutions- Director 

DESCRIPTION: Director: Board members are the fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as making sure the nonprofit has adequate resources to advance its mission. 

REQUIREMENTS: Board members are asked to serve a term of two years, there is a financial aspect as all board members must go over financials as presented by Board Treasurer.

Circle of Change General Board Members 

DESCRIPTION: We are looking for 3-4 new members to join our growing and ever-evolving non-profit. We are an involved board, where every member works together to help area veterans who suffer from PTSD or TBIs.

TIME COMMITMENT: Board members generally spend anywhere from 2-5 hours monthly lending their time and talents to the organization.

REQUIREMENTS: We ask that each board member remain engaged, open-minded, professional and donate to the organization monetarily or through time and talents monthly.

Center for Sight and Hearing 

DESCRIPTION: Finance Committee, Fundraising Committee
Individuals with an interest in finance or fundraising are invited to join these committees.

Finance Committee meets every other month (6 times/year) at 8am on the 3rd Wednesday. Zoom and/or Conference Calls are permitted.
Fundraising Committees are ad hoc for our annual Golf Outing and Dining in the Dark and require an approximate 6-month commitment with monthly meetings generally scheduled later in the work day (4-430pm). Fundraisers are held on weekdays/nights and committee member participation is appreciated.

REQUIREMENTS: Board Members are required to attend bi-monthly meetings, including the Annual Meeting (6 total), and give or get sponsorships to fundraisers. Board meetings are generally held on the 4th Monday at 4pm at the Center. Zoom and/or Conference Calls are permitted. Individuals whose lives in some way have been impacted by vision or hearing loss are welcome.

TIME COMMITMENT: 10 hours/year

Rosecrance- Board Member 

REQUIREMENTS: • Understand and support the Rosecrance mission
• Utilize skills and expertise to offer advice and carry out the mission of the Rosecrance Board
• Participate in Rosecrance events and activities; and take an interest in and promote activities in other Rosecrance markets
• Make a meaningful annual gift to Rosecrance
• Develop an understanding of Rosecrance programs and services and tour the treatment centers and recovery homes
• Regularly attend and participate in the board meetings and the annual meeting
• Suggest possible nominees to the Board/ help recruit new board members
• Sign a conflict of interest and confidentiality statement annually
